Our
Mental Health Treatment facility has been in continuous operation
since 1956. It is the oldest established general hospital facility
in this area. Our location offers all the advantages of a community-based
teaching hospital with its more than 130 year history of dedication
in patient care.
Our mission is to provide a complete continuum
of care at many levels such as inpatient and partial
hospitalization for
comprehensive care.
Our programs include:
Our adult inpatient psychiatric program
provides assessment services and short-term intensive psychiatric
care. The goal of the mental health unit is to resolve the psychiatric
emergency. We restore the individual to a level of functioning
that promotes a return to the community.
Our program includes an individualized
treatment plan developed by a multidisciplinary team to address
each patient’s needs. Our treatment is in a therapeutic
milieu using a variety of psychotherapeutic modalities including:
- Individual Therapy
- Group Therapy
- Family Intervention
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
- Art Therapy
Our goal is to help the patient return
to the family, job and community within the shortest time possible.
There is a Family/Significant Other Support
Group held on Wednesday evenings for all patients' family/significant
others at 6:30 pm in the cafeteria. At the end of the
meeting, participants may visit with the patients on the unit
until 8:30 pm.
