What to know and what to bring:

  • Unless special arrangements have been made, please do not arrive to the lab prior to 7:30pm. There will be no one available to let you into the sleep laboratory.
  • Sleeping attire is your choice. Whatever is comfortable is fine.
  • Please bring all medications you normally take during the hours you will spend with us. No medications are available at this site. (Never stop any medication without consulting your physician.)
  • Toiletries as needed.
  • Each room is equipped with a flat screen TV, DVD player & cable hook-up. However, you may wish to bring a book, magazine etc.
  • Each room has a private bathroom with a shower. Many patients leave the laboratory and go directly to work, after the study.
  • Please eat dinner prior to arriving for your appointment. If your test requires you to stay the next day, breakfast and lunch will be provided.
  • Please do not use lotions or creams on your skin/hair the night of your test.
  • Be sure to schedule a follow-up appointment with the physician who referred you to the lab. At that time the results of your test will be discussed.
  • If you are having CPAP testing, all equipment is ordered by the sleep staff and should be received, in 1-2 weeks of testing. In the event you do not hear from the home care company in a timely fashion, please contact the sleep staff.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call Tish Pitcherello, Manager of the department. The telephone number is: 609-581-6062
