St. Francis Medical Center School of Nursing Holds Pinning Ceremony

TRENTON, NJ—On January 17, the St. Francis School of Nursing held its annual Prayer Service and Pinning Ceremony for 59 students from the classes of 2019 and 2020. The pins are in the shape of a dove and symbolize Peace and the Holy Spirit. They can be worn on the students’ uniforms as a reminder of their responsibility to their patients.

Toward the end of the ceremony, the St. Francis Foundation awarded more than $40,000 in scholarships to students from the Keller Trust Fund. Over the years, more than 30 nursing education scholarships have been given through the bequest that was donated by Otto and Blanche Keller, who in 1894 established what went on to become one of largest fabric cleaning and care businesses in central New Jersey. The generosity of their philanthropy has touched dozens of lives through St. Francis nursing and beyond.
