NJ Health Commissioner Visits St. Francis Medical Center

TRENTON, NJ—Leaders from St. Francis Medical Center recently met with Dr. Shereef M. Elnahal, New Jersey Health Commissioner; as well as New Jersey Deputy Commissioner Marcela Ospina Maziarz; and Chief of Staff Andrea Martinez-Mejia.
 
The group had a meaningful discussion about St. Francis’ deep-rooted mission in caring for the community, its educational programs and services, including the medical center serving as the only open-heart surgery provider in Mercer County, and population health goals. The Health Commissioner also addressed his key state priorities, including improving women’s health and mental health access.

Following the meeting, the Health Commissioner and his team joined St. Francis leaders for a tour of the medical center’s Emergency department and Cardiac Surgery unit.
